Oh Happy Day

Thanks to the fine customer service practitioners at Target in Lynnwood, Washington I am now the proud owner of another French Press by Bodum. Thank you for all your prayers and support through this difficult time.

Advice: Be gentle to hot, thin, soapy glass.

Are you gonna mention the "O Sad Day" of the other special glass item that recently shattered in the sink? Just when one broken thing is replaced, an irreplaceable thing breaks. There's a Zen story about that.

Yeah, there has been far too much glass upheaval in my life lately. Maybe if I stop blogging about it it will just go away.

My precious Sunshine Wheat glass, we've had a lot of good times together. Lots of iced coffee, beer, cookies and milk, margaritas and cran-apple juice. I have known for the last several years that you were my go-to-glass, and touching my lips to your rim has almost always led to deliciousness. It is with these happy memories in mind that I bid you a grievous farewell. Though I will drink from many other glasses, know that you offered something special to me that I cannot forget. Goodbye Sunshine Wheat glass: I love you and I'll miss you.

Welcome the Age of the Newcastle Brown Ale glass! Long live Newkie Brown!
